The Piero Atchugarry Gallery presents "Metaphysician of the Everyday", a solo exhibition by the prolific yet underrepresented artist Linda Kohen. Born in Italy in 1924, Kohen's life and work were shaped by the turbulent events of the 20th century, including her exiles, first during the Holocaust in 1939 and later from Uruguay due to the military dictatorship of 1973. These repeated displacements profoundly influenced recurring themes in Kohen's painting, such as exile, uprootedness, and impermanence.

Spanning from 1971 to 1999, this solo exhibition delves into a pivotal period in her career, celebrating her centenary birthday and significant contributions to modern art.

This moment is especially meaningful as Kohen has also been selected to participate in the 60th Venice Art Biennale, curated by Adriano Pedrosa.
